About Our Firm

Since Dan Roby began his law practice in 1966 he has been representing families touched by injuries and death caused by the negligence of others. One of the first lawyers in the state to devote his practice exclusively to personal injury, he joined with Stan Hood in 1983 to form “Roby and Hood Law Firm.” From that point forward, the firm devoted its entire practice to personal injury.

Throughout this time, Dan Roby, Stan Hood, and their associate attorneys, were actively involved in the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA), the group at the forefront of the battle to protect the rights of injured people. In 1986, Dan Roby was named ITLA’s “Trial Lawyer of the Year,” after which he served the organization as an officer, lecturer and author.

Our firm has long served the community at large with such programs as “People’s Law School,” a low-cost lecture series for non-lawyers initiated by Stan Hood in 1988, aimed at educating members of the public about our legal system.

Tom Manges joined the firm in 1992, and became a partner in 1997. Following the example of the firm founders, Tom has been a member of ITLA his entire practice, and became a Board member in 2004. In 2005 the firm name officially changed to “Roby & Manges Law Firm.” What has not changed is the firm’s commitment to helping people injured in accidents.

Roby & Manges Law Firm is committed to educating members of the public and other attorneys about personal injury law. That’s why all of the lawyers in the firm have written and lectured extensively on personally injury related topics to state and local bar associations, and other legal organizations. In 1993 Dan Roby was named President of the ITLA. The ITLA keeps a full time office in Indianapolis where it monitors the Indiana legislature, which regularly passes laws that directly impact the injured. Our firm has remained active in advising the ITLA on legislative matters.

Our firm was especially proud when the ITLA gave Dan Roby its Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004, recognizing his tireless career spent representing injured people. The attorneys of Roby & Manges Law Firm continue this tradition, and the pledge that personal injury is our only business.
